It’s Very Important to Properly Store Your Electric Golf Cart During Winter !

It’s very important to know how to properly store your electric golf cart during Winter. Here are some tips for the proper storage of your electric golf cart:

First of all you should clean your golf cart batteries and ensure that all the cell caps are snugly attached. Then unplug the charger and wash the battery compartment. Start on one side of the golf cart and spray Battery Neutralizer all over the tops of the batteries. Be sure to spray between the batteries, down on the battery racks, and the inside walls of the body panels, if they are metal. Use an old paintbrush to scour all the battery tops and sides. Water from a garden hose using plain water, or use a solution of Baking Soda (about 2 tablespoons to 1 gallon of water) to neutralize the acid.

Check, clean, tighten and treat all of the battery terminal connections. Be sure the cables are tight to the post. Carefully wriggle each cable end side-to-side and then gently up & down. There should be no looseness or sideways movement. You will need to do some serious cleaning, if your battery terminals are badly corroded.

Check the water levels in each cell. Make sure the electrolyte (distilled water) in each battery cell is above the plates. When the cart will be left uncharged for several months in cold climates, leave the water level a little low. This raises the specific gravity of the acid, which will help prevent freezing. A lead acid battery keeps much better in the cold than in the heat, as long as the charge stays up.

A fully charged battery will not freeze until 60 to 70 below zero whereas a discharged battery can freeze at 20 degrees above zero. As a battery discharges, the acid turns into water by the basic chemical nature of the lead acid battery. The more discharge, the more water and the more likely it is to freeze. Also a dirty, acid covered battery will self-discharge at a faster rate than a clean treated battery, even in cooler temperatures.

Don’t leave your electric golf cart plugged into the charger for extended periods of time. After the charge is done, unplug the charger from the cart and from the wall.

Leave the cart in Neutral and turn the key off. Either way, scotch the wheels so you can leave the hill brake released. This prevents strain on the cables and the brake shoes can’t lock to the drums.

Once a month, If you are not going away for the winter, you can plug your Charger in for a few hours to insure a full charge is maintained. The charger should be unplugged from the car and the wall after charging.

Finalize for winter storage by checking the tire pressures and inflate to 20-25 psi.

Roll down the rain curtains and zip them part way down. If you have to leave the car out in the open, or under an open shed, neatly fold the rain curtain and bring it in the house till spring. Very cold weather will cause the see through vinyl to become very brittle and a puff of wind will blow it out.

Eliminate the Back Swing Dip From Your Golf Game

The PurePoint Golf swing theory points you in the right direction and gives you a system of fundamentals to measure yourself against. In golf this is very important; however situations arise where you can not figure out why you are having certain difficulties. Whether your problem is hitting behind the ball or hitting the ball thin, sometimes we are clueless to where the problem lies.

We teach a fairly horizontal swing plane in comparison to most. Even though there are major benefits to this version of the golf swing certain complications can arise very rapidly. This tip in particular was created to keep golfers from hitting behind the ball. My objective is to enlighten you on all areas of the golf swing, so that when certain situations arise, you can adjust accordingly. And ultimately checkpoints pre-established.

  • The player(s) back shoulder in his/her backswing dips down; meaning your back shoulder is lowering towards the ground. This is hard to do when you don’t have lateral movement or weight shift back and away from the target, as we teach. However, this is very normal among players who have a horizontal swing plane. The common tendency is to lower your back shoulder as your swing plane becomes more horizontal.
  • It’s important to understand that if you dip your back shoulder in your backswing this could cause many different problems in you swing. Your timing, hand position at impact, weight shift through the ball, and the follow-through position could all be negatively affected.

Solution

  • Fortunately there is simple solution. Venture to the practice range and take a golf ball. Place the golf ball underneath your back foot (please make sure that ½ the ball is in the ground so that you don’t fall over). If a ball doesn’t feel right use a towel or something that is at least an inch off the ground. The ball/object should be placed underneath your back heel in order to ensure that you have no weight transfer and that your back shoulder does not drop in your backswing.
  • Then simply take your normal golf swing. If you choose you can hit a ball or you can just take a couple practice swings. First, focus on not dipping your shoulder in your backswing (keep your back shoulder up and not down). I guarantee that if you master this skill you will make solid contact with the ball on a more consistent basis.
  • This drill will force you to practice your swing with no weight shift back and away from your target and simultaneously help you with dipping your back shoulder.

Practice this drill and be aware that if you are having difficulty hitting behind the ball at any time in your round, the problem could lie in shoulder position in your backswing. To learn more go to PurePoint Golf Instruction

Suggestions To Be Aware Of While Buying Elegant Golf Gloves

December 23rd, 2009

One very important piece of golf equipment is a golf glove.  The right golf glove can improve your game by improving your grip and the control you have over your swing.  The wrong golfing glove will be more of a distraction than a help.  This is the reason why it is critical to take it slow when shopping for a golf glove and to buy the one that may actually be helpful.

Most folk will only wear one golfing glove.  The glove is usually worn on the higher hand which is closest to the club grip.  This is most often not your dominant hand.  A right handed golfer will often wear a glove on their left hand while a left handed golfer will wear one on the right.  It is a brilliant idea to spend some time trying on golf gloves before you get one.  It’s best if you are able to grip a club while you are trying it on.  This will allow you to get a good sense of how well it fits and whether it improves your grip.

Golf gloves can be made out of many different materials.  Some of the most popular choices include nylon, synthetics, knitted fabric, and leather.  The very best quality golfing gloves are sometimes made from leather.  Some of the benefits to selecting a leather golfing glove are that it’ll conform to the shape of your hand and should be really durable.

There will be many different features to think about when purchasing a golf glove.  Some of the things to go looking for include marriage ring holes, Velcro straps, ball markers, and guidelines to accommodate long fingernails.  Think about what features are most critical to you as well as your style of play.  There are leather golf gloves out there which will work for nearly each golfer.

Swing Better Golf Better

Most golfers will say the hardest part of their game is focus. The mental side of golf is one spoken of but often overlooked. Do you have a friend that golfs well on every round? Why is that? Practice makes perfect. What they don’t tell you, is what they practice at. They practice at mental toughness; golf has often been referred to as 10% Talent 90% mental. When overcoming that mental side of golf, do you try to change your equipment, the time at which you play, maybe even they guys you play with. Here we go, some tips that are going to help get you on your way to being a better golfer.

The tempo of golf is often a concern for golfers. You are stuck behind a slow foursome, or maybe the guys behind you are rushing you, and you feel that pressure to golf faster. The tempo of the course should never affect the tempo of your swing. The tempo of your swing is so important; to achieve the desired results. How do I find MY tempo you ask? A golfer can find their tempo by doing these simple things:

SLOW DOWN!! Let me say this again SLOW DOWN, if you just swing faster and harder you are not going to get the results you are looking for. This is true is some instances, but, for the sake of this article we will not be discussing those concepts. The tempo we are talking about today, how you are going to have the same back swing, contact point, and follow through no matter what club you are using or what part of the course you are playing from. How are you going to get the tempo? Go to the driving range and practice with one club at a time. Take your driver and hit 20 balls, then take your 9 iron and hit 20 balls work your way in 3W-8I and on until you have hit them all. In your back Swing you want to make sure you are coming to the same point every time. When you hit the ball you should be contacting at the same speed every time. When you swing a Driver you want to hit the ball far and often times straight, should you not have the same goal with every other club in your golf bag. You really want to be swinging all of your clubs at the same speed, you will see great improvement on how well you make contact with the ball. Follow through is the same as your back swing you need to follow through the same on every shot. Your follow through will affect your accuracy a 100% of the time. Working on these simple techniques will improve your mental game and when that improves so does your score.

After you have put in your work at the range, head on over to start working on your chipping. Start by working with your wedges, then move on to you short irons. You need to use every club for at least 100 chips. When you start in the deep stuff focus on yout tempo and making sure you land every ball on the green. If you are hitting the ball with the same tempo every time, your chipping will be more accurate. Remember chipping should be another tool in your arsenal and not the final result. Many careers have been made from singles and doubles hitters it is not just the home run hitters that decide how games turnout. Chipping will achieve greater results if you shoot for the green not the hole. The 8i and 9i will be used to work out the tempo of the bump and run technique. Tempo here is the key still but keep in mind that now you have too much club for such a short distance. Find your tempo and stick with it!! Imagine you are still hitting that same wedge, Change the Club not the Tempo!!

Putting Putting Putting! Why is this a hard thing to understand? We have now gone from Driving range tempo to chipping tempo to putting tempo the TEMPO does not change only the environment. While practicing don’t worry about how far or where the ball goes work on keeping your tempo the same every time. You are never going to change your swing for a putt. The only part about putting that changes is the distance. Start by sinking 10 putts in a row from 1ft away after you have done this, move out to 2ft, repeat until you sink 10 in a row from 10ft away. Keep the same tempo.

The goal for these exercises is to teach your to go through the same steps every time. You are trying to create a tempo that you are going to follow, now matter what is going on around you. When you take the time to build on your tempo you will see results!! If you want the proven results of the pros you need to create a time line in your mind (90% mental) that you will follow no matter where you are, or whom you are playing with. By creating this method of training for your body, your mind will have no choice but to respond by focusing on what you are trying to do.

Suggestions For a Golf Holiday

December 20th, 2009

Nothing is more thrilling than family and friends taking a fun and relaxing golf holiday tour together.  This great sport can be played all over the globe. As you consider the various destinations, you will find that you can choose from thousands and thousands of possibilities in foreign countries along with golf courses nearby your home town.  There are many great courses that exist right here in America such as in California, Florida, Arizona, and North Carolina each have some of the best courses, as well as associated resorts and hotels.

Popular golf courses are also in foreign countries although those in Spain, Portugal, and Scotland are among the favorites.  Scotland in particular is a top choice due to the well-manicured greens that are pampered by highly skilled groundskeepers.  In addition to some of the world’s best golf, Scotland is also famous for having some of the most beautiful castles and historical resorts anywhere.

When looking for the best golf destination, you will be amazed at how some areas seem to have a larger number of high rated courses.  In fact, many cities have top courses within minutes from one another.  Therefore, you could easily choose one location for your golf holiday tour but play on other courses too.  That way, you have a home base as you enjoy greens on several golf courses.  One option for a golf holiday is by signing up to participate in a mini-tournament.  If you check at local golf courses, you will find that many offer this type of opportunity.

After playing, whether you win or not, you and your friends could enjoy dinner at the resort, made by a master chef.  If the spouses join you and your friends on this golf holiday tour but do not golf, they could spend time at the day spa in the resort or head out to shop.

Obviously, you want to find the most desirable golf course in the most exciting location, but with so many options from which to choose, the process can become a little complicated.  You will also notice as you begin looking at different courses that most cities have several located close together.  For this reason you would have the opportunity to play on more than one course while on one golf holiday tour, therefore, getting more out of your money.

To help choose the right location, a golf specialist can provide you with all types of information.  The specialist would determine your preferences and budget and then offer suggestions for the golf holiday tour that matches best.  The list would likely include national and international golf courses, unless otherwise specified.  This professional would also be able to tell you some of the high and lowlights of each course and if you want, work with you to organize the entire trip for everyone going.

These videos provide advice on every trait of golf that you can imagine. All you have to do is go online to any search engine and then you want to type in the particular type of video that you are looking for and you will be presented with the results.

Tips In The Golf Driving Tips Video

There are a few tips in particular that you can find in a golf driving tips video, and which are going to be really helpful to you in your golf game. For one, you are always going to make sure that you have to pay attention on something at the end of your drive. So when you go to tee off, the best thing that you can do is pretend that you are standing on a railroad track that is completely straight and then picture a train at the very end.

Now you want to keep your focus on this “train” and keep it there while you make the drive. This will help you in focusing on something that is going to help your gaze steady and also keep your drive straight which in turn will help you to improve your game of golf.
